Erich was always professional and knowledgeable while helping rehabilitate my knee. Beyond this, he was friendly, compassionate and easy to talk with. I felt totally assured that he knew how to keep me moving in the right direction.

About Erich

I received my doctor of physical therapy degree from Des Moines University after completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in sports science at Loras College. My clinical interests include treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and optimizing physical function following surgery. I have expertise in Ehlers-Danlos syndrome as well as joint hyper-mobility syndromes.

Most of my life has been spent in West Des Moines, and I’m passionate about giving back to this community. I enjoy making connections with people and exploring ways to motivate and treat patients on an individual basis to help them achieve their goals for physical function and quality of life.

My Treatment Philosophy

I believe the best outcomes come through investing more time with each patient and providing personal, hands-on care. The model of “fix, train, maintain” perfectly describes my treatment philosophy. I opened West Des Moines Physical Therapy with a vision of helping individuals of all ages return to their physically active lifestyles. We do this through manual treatment, supplemented with exercise intervention, to retrain your body to function at its optimal level, and individualized home exercise programs for long-term success.

Katherine treated my whole self, listening to my needs, suggesting helpful interventions and supporting my recovery with equal measures of challenge and encouragement. I have returned to all the normal activities I enjoy, pain-free!

About Katherine

I received my doctor of physical therapy degree from the University of Iowa in 2014 after completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and psychology at Luther College in 2012. My professional interests include pediatrics, vestibular conditions, musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation.

I'm passionate about working with children and adults to help improve their quality of life and meet functional goals with physical therapy. Away from the clinic, I enjoy biking, hiking, gardening and spending time with friends and family.

My Treatment Philosophy

I find value in working one-on-one with my patients and setting meaningful goals to work toward in our physical therapy sessions. Whether your goal is to get back to a sport or hobby, care for your child, perform your job or simply move through the day without pain, I’ll try my best to help you achieve your goal. I use hands-on interventions to prepare the body for healthy movement patterns and optimize strength and function. My holistic approach to physical therapy is based on treating you as a whole person rather than your symptoms.

About Hailey

I received my doctor of physical therapy degree from Des Moines University in 2018 after completing my Bachelor of Science degree in health and exercise science from Colorado State University in 2015. My range of clinical interests include musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgical rehab, as well as balance impairments and fall prevention.

I grew up in the Des Moines metro area and am happy to still call Des Moines home. It's important to me to form new relationships with members in my community and work closely with patients to reach their functional goals. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, running, reading and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

My Treatment Philosophy

I truly believe that a hands-on, holistic approach to physical therapy results in better functional outcomes for patients. You can count on me to take the time to really get to know you and what's important to you while working together to reach your physical therapy and health and wellness goals. I'm passionate about providing evidence-based, one-on-one care to get you back performing at your optimal level while preventing future injury.
